The subtle use of colours and treatment is good. The colours are very pleasing and add freshness and elegance to the composition. The texture and the tones of hair make it very interesting. I think you are gaining better control in your strokes compared to your earlier similar works. There is improvement in your observation and rendering of details.
The maturity of the composition of an artist apart from lots of practice comes with his or her experience and the perspective with which one looks at things…. when one tries to look beyond what is visible and when one tries to look at the innate beauty of any thing.
I can’t give expert comments like ur mom.. I just think she looks good
